FIRE SERVICE. The City of McComb employs 39 full time firefighters,working 24 hour shifts in addition to the Fire Chief and Deputy Fire Chief. Also on-staff is a full-time Homeland Security Official. There are 4 station houses, a ladder truck, several pumpers, a tanker, and a rescue truck. 

A hazardous materials team (known as HazMat) has been established in cooperation with Pike County. The HazMat team will respond within Pike County to control dangerous situations involving chemical spills and hazardous materials. The fire department also has a dive rescue team to assist in rescue operations throughout the region's waterways.
